Cherax sp. Bluemoon shows a bluish base colour on the carapax with somewhat weaker orange colouring on the sides; it owes its name to its strongly glowing blue colour. The final size is about 12 cm.
The animals are mostly active at night and rarely show themselves during the day. The sexes can be told apart: females have noticeably weaker, narrower claws.
