Schwarze Turmdeckelschnecke - Melanoides maculata
Reference S091
Animals and plants differ in their demands on water parameters, tank size and tank mates. Please check the details in the tabs below before you buy. If you are unsure, just get in touch before ordering — we are happy to advise.
Melanoides maculata is recognised by its dark tower shaped shell with reddish blotches. Like its relatives it stays in the substrate during the day and becomes active at night.
Its burrowing keeps the substrate loose and prevents anaerobic pockets. The species is livebearing and multiplies quickly when food is plentiful.
