Corydoras parallelus, also known as the striped back cory, comes from the rivers of the Amazon basin as well as other waters in Brazil, Colombia and Peru. It is silvery white with dark stripes on the back and flanks, has a slightly curved body shape and long, thin barbels.
It is considered robust and adaptable, suiting both beginners and experienced aquarists. As a schooling fish it should be kept in groups of at least 5 to 6 and fits well in community tanks with other peaceful species.
